当地居民对陨星事件十分关注

        据国外媒体9月19日报道，近日，一颗陨星坠落在秘鲁南部一个村庄，事后当地村民出现了身体不适，并表现出不同程度的病症。

9月15日中午，村民们被神秘火球的巨大爆炸声所震惊，爆炸声离村庄不远，当时他们认为可能是飞机坠毁。这个村庄位于秘鲁与玻利维亚边境Desaguadero地区高安第斯山脉附近。当地卫生健康部门官员乔根•罗普兹在接受秘鲁广播电台RPP记者采访称，陨星坠落之后，许多当地居民抱怨他们闻到“奇怪气味”之后陆续出现头痛和呕吐。

A Russian aerospace organisation has contacted Asian countries and the European Space Agency to seek their participation in its moon exploration program, officials said Tuesday.

"Negotiations are underway with countries like India, China, Japan and with the European Space Agency," an official of Lavochkin Research and Production Association told AFP on condition of anonymity.

A leaking hydraulic seal on the space shuttle Discovery's right main-gear strut could delay the launch of the shuttle to the International Space Station set for October 23, NASA said Monday.

"The struts act as shock absorbers during the shuttle's landing. Shuttle managers made the decision to go ahead with the repairs during a meeting Monday afternoon," the US space agency said in a statement on its website.

“WorldView I”卫星模拟图

　　北京时间9月19日消息，据国外媒体报道，谷歌地图的图像提供商“数字地球公司”(DigitalGlobe)的一颗图像卫星周二成功发射升空，其将把谷歌地图的分辨率提高至0.5米。

　　这颗代号为“WorldView-1”的下一代地球图像卫星由一枚“Delta 2”火箭发射升空，并在一小时后与火箭分离，目前在距离地球300公里的轨道运行。该卫星的使用寿命约为7年。

      北京时间9月19日消息，据国外媒体报道，天文学家们最近将澳大利亚、中国和欧洲的射电天文望远镜进行了实时联接，有效地创造出一个几乎与地球直径等大的望远镜，这在人类天文学观测史上尚属首次。

　　澳大利亚联邦科学与产业研究组织的科学家们表示，他们已于8月末将澳大利亚、中国和欧洲的射电天文望远镜进行了实时联接。这样一来，天文学家们就可以同时利用新南威尔士库纳巴拉布兰附近的望远镜、上海周边的望远镜以及5架位于欧洲的望远镜，对一个名为3C273的遥远星系进行观测。
