我国正式启动火星探测工程

         国防科工委日前在京组织召开中俄联合火星探测卫星工程大总体讨论会,标志着我国火星探测工程正式启动立项程序。

据国防科工委介绍,会议明确了卫星总体承担单位,确定了工程技术总负责人,对工程各大系统方案进行了审查,为中俄两国技术和商务谈判奠定了基础。

  864、国际摄影测量学会(摄影测量学会)成立于1910年,其第一任会长是奥地利的Edouard Dolezal。摄影测量学会在其原有的名称下运作了70年之后,于1980年改名为国际摄影测量和遥感学会(摄影测量和遥感学会)。

1.组织

  空间研究委员会(空间研委会)于1958年10月成立,以继续1957-1958年国际地球物理年期间开展的火箭和卫星研究合作方案。空间研委会是一个从事科学研究的跨学科科学委员会。其目标是在国际一级促进使用空间运载工具、火箭和气球的各种科学研究。该委员会一般不参与诸如推进、火箭建造、制导和控制之类的技术问题研究。

  空间研委会根据其章程通过促进国际科技界参与科学理事会以及参加各国家科技机构和国际科技联合会来最大限度地开发空间研究方案来实现其目的。凡涉及国家领土的安排均应通过有关国家之间的双边和多边讨论来作出。空间研委会作为一个非政治性组织,作为政策,不就一国向另一国提供具体援助事项提出任何建议。但是,它愿意得到有关这类安排的资料,并愿意提供一个方便的聚会场所,以便可非正式地提出和讨论此种安排。

Space Artist Draws From Experience

Ron Woods is one of the few people to effectively capture spacesuits in their native habitats. Designed to keep humans alive in the void of orbit and on the moon, the rugged garments nevertheless spend almost their entire lives in pristine rooms on Earth. It is there that Woods finds them and brings their stories to life. "To me, there's nothing more artistic than a spacesuit," Woods said. "They're just real interesting pieces of hardware to me and I just started painting them."

Helium May Set Minimum Speed Limit For Solar Wind

Helium may act as a "throttle" for the solar wind, setting its minimum speed, according to new results with NASA's Wind spacecraft. The solar wind is a diffuse stream of electrically conducting gas (plasma) constantly blowing from the sun.

"This result gives us another clue about how the solar wind is accelerated, which may help us better understand space weather," said Dr. Justin Kasper of the Kavli Institute for Astrophysics and Space Research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Mass., lead author of a paper on this research that appeared in the Astrophysical Journal May 1. When turbulent solar wind hits Earth's magnetic field, it can cause magnetic storms that overload power lines and radiation storms that disrupt spacecraft.

First Observation Of A Uranian Mutual Event

An international team of astronomers led by Apostolos Christou at Armagh Observatory has made the first ever observation of one of the satellites of the planet Uranus passing in front of another. The observation was made on the night of 4th May by Marton Hidas and Tim Brown, of the Las Cumbres Observatory Global Telescope, Santa Barbara, California, using the robotic Faulkes Telescope South at Siding Spring Observatory, Australia. This work involves a collaboration between scientists at Siding Spring, Las Cumbres, Armagh and Cardiff University.

美宇航局评出太阳系外“最迷人的十颗行星”

据美国宇航局太空网报道,1990年天文学家发现第一颗太阳系外行星,它围绕着一颗垂死的、发出大量放射物的恒星运行,而这颗恒星与我们的太阳非常不同。从此,科学家开启了一个更加新奇陌生的世界。1995年天文学家开始用“51 Pegasi b”命名这颗太阳系外行星,或称外部行星。

在发现“51 Pegasi b”后的几十年中,这些已知的外部行星的数量已经升至230颗,组成一个奇异的世界。

五十年前,美国宇航局最初想实现载人航天计划时,需要解决许多问题。重要问题之一就是怎样设计宇航服,宇航服要用来保护在恶劣的太空环境中的宇航员。如果不加特殊的保护,人是不可能在恶劣的太空环境中生存的。太空的寒冷瞬间可冻结皮肤、太阳的炙热又可引起严重的烧伤、失去大气层血液就会沸腾、人缺氧一会儿都不行。这些恶劣的太空环境意味着人如果没有穿上特殊保护的宇航服,很快就会死亡。
